U.S. Senator Ted Cruz tours site of Natura MSR-1 Deployment

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz joined Natura Resources and Abilene Christian University (ACU) leadership to tour the site of the Natura MSR-1 deployment and discuss the opporutnity for the State of Texas to be the nation's leader in the development and deployment of advanced nuclear technology.

Significant progress has been made since Senator Cruz's last visit in 2021:

- The nation's first advanced reactor demonstration facility outside of a national lab, the Science and Engineering Research Center at ACU was completed in less than 18 months.

- The construction permit application to deploy the Natura MSR-1 system at ACU was submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and is set to be approved in September.

- Zachry Nuclear Engineering was hired to complete detailed engineering and design of the Natura MSR-1 system.
